Context for this one makes it even better - the girl was adapted from an earlier story concept about an innkeeper whose wizard boyfriend got trapped inside a magic sword. The artist suggested they use that idea instead when they first started having story problems, but the lead was like “god, that’d be great, but that was a fantasy story and this is sci-fi, you can’t just have a massive soul-stealing demon sword in a sci-fi game“
